As National Spokesperson for The American Legion’s American Legacy Scholarship for nearly ten years, Michael assisted in raising millions of dollars to help ensure college educations for the children of post-9/11 Veterans who gave their life in service to our nation.
Over the last decade, Michael and his wife, Army Women’s Hall Of Fame inductee COL Jill W. Chambers U.S. Army (Ret) have provided ongoing leadership and creative consulting for several groundbreaking Military Veteran support programs including Syracuse University’s renowned - Institute For Veterans & Military Families (IVMF)
For the past ten years Michael has served as the National Spokesman and Master of Ceremonies for The National Veterans Creative Arts Festival (NVCAF). This program showcases the Veterans Administrations work utilizing art therapy to help wounded Veterans find healing. 120 Gold medal recipients in the visual and performing arts are honored annually on this PBS Television special.
Following eleven tours and over 150 performances for deployed Service members in Iraq and Afghanistan, Michael Peterson received the prestigious Spirit Of Hope medal from the U.S.O. and the U.S. Army. This honor is given annually to individuals whose selfless service as entertainers perpetuates the legacy of the late Bob Hope.

Concert Series: Wave On Old Glory, Wave On
Michael’s album, We Are Veterans, contains original songs of hope, healing, and unity honoring active duty Military, Veterans and family members.
His acclaimed concert series, Wave On Old Glory, Wave On, features music from the album combined with videos, humor and powerful stories paving the way for an empowering workshop following the concert.
The workshop, presented by nationally known subject matter expert on Post Traumatic Stress - COL Jill W. Chambers U.S. Army (Ret), introduces effective non-pharmaceutical pathways to wellness for people living with Post Traumatic Stress. In addition, Jill provides resources for those who love and support individuals living with Post Traumatic Stress.
